Description:
During my tenure as a retired Lt. Colonel from the USAF Judge Advocate General Corps and in my 25 years as a civil litigation attorney, I have developed a core sense of responsibility to both my clients and the community. I always focus on my clients and not the value of the case, and I have represented individuals and businesses with cases ranging from under $1,000.00 to a wrongful death recovering nearly $1,000,000.00. Based on my reputation and experience in and out of the courtroom, I was hired as a part-time Hearing Officer (Administrative Judge) in two capacities with the City of St. Louis, serving with the City Civil Service Commission and the City Treasurer’s Office. Through my hearing practice before the Department of Labor, I have earned a reputation as an advocate who can define the issues for the Judges and aggressively represent my clients while showing tremendous respect to both the court and the opposing party. I have had successful appeals before the Missouri Court of Appeals, and my arguments have even resulted in dicta in court opinions.

I have practiced employment law in several states, and have developed an exceptional reputation as an employment attorney. Media outlets as far as Oregon (the “Oregonian”) have consulted me based on my reputation and other attorneys and corporate counsels frequently refer cases to me. Some referrals are based on the client’s immediate need of representation at unemployment hearings, while others require an appeal, briefs, or other arguments relating to an employee’s discharge. Based on my unemployment law experience, I have taught national and state-wide unemployment law continued legal education (CLE) to attorneys and key company personnel.
